The object

When you draw an object, you need to care about it, giving it your full attention.
Begin with its underlying structure, its "bones."
Build your drawing like the object itself was built.
As you draw, ask yourself what you are learning about its geometry, it symmetry, its internal relationships, its spatial presence.
What is it teaching you? About process? About drawing other related forms?
What has it taught you about disciplined looking?
What does your hand remember and retain?
